Lithuania intends to develop medical cooperation with Azerbaijan
A meeting was held at the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to our country Egidius Navikas.
Welcoming the guests, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev emphasised the dynamic development of friendly relations between our countries, Caliber.Az was told in the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Pointing to successful cooperation in many areas, including in the field of healthcare and medical science, Teymur Musayev noted that there is great potential for the exchange of experience between national public health institutions and the expansion of cooperation in the field of pharmaceuticals: “In addition, in order to increase the efficiency of health care, our countries have all the necessary tools for interaction in the field of medical education, including the exchange of modern methodological and scientific-practical information in the field of continuing professional education of medical specialists.
In turn, the Lithuanian Ambassador noted the importance of high-level reciprocal visits in expanding bilateral relations. Recalling that in May of this year, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) and the Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU), Egidius Navikas emphasized that this document will contribute to the expansion of medical cooperation between our countries. Expressing support for the reforms carried out in the healthcare system of our country, the ambassador noted that Lithuania is ready to contribute in every possible way to the modernization of the medical education system in Azerbaijan in accordance with internationally recognized methodologies and standards.
The meeting, held in the spirit of mutual understanding, discussed the current state of cooperation in the field of health and medical science, and the potential for its development.
