Media: Iran increases oil shipments through Strait of Hormuz
Iran has significantly increased oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz to levels not seen since the outbreak of the recent conflict, as maritime traffic in the key energy corridor rebounds amid ongoing diplomatic efforts between Tehran and Washington, according to shipping data cited by Bloomberg.
Approximately 6 million barrels of crude oil were loaded onto three US-sanctioned supertankers — Elva, Virgo and Vigor — which entered the strategic waterway on June 22, ship-tracking data showed.
The vessels are reportedly signalling destinations near Singapore, a common transfer point where Iranian crude is often offloaded onto other ships for onward delivery, frequently to buyers in China.
The surge in shipments comes as restrictions on vessels calling at Iranian ports have been eased, enabling increased maritime activity, according to reports cited by industry observers.
