Media: US-Iran temporary ceasefire leaves Lebanon out of deal
The two-week US-Iran ceasefire does not apply to Lebanon, The Times of Israel reports, citing the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“The two-weeks ceasefire does not include Lebanon,” the Prime Minister’s office said in a statement.
Israel’s PM has also welcomed President Trump’s decision to suspend strikes against Iran for two weeks.
“Israel supports President Trump’s decision to suspend strikes against Iran for two weeks subject to Iran immediately opening the straits and stopping all attacks on the US, Israel and countries in the region,” the statement added.
Earlier, the newspaper reported that there were no signs of a halt to Israeli operations against the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah, despite remarks by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif claiming the ceasefire would take immediate effect, “including in Lebanon and everywhere.”
