Minibus carrying mine workers in Türkiye plunges into ravine, injuring 15
A minibus transporting mine workers in Türkiye’s south-eastern Siirt province has plunged into a ravine, leaving 15 people injured.
The vehicle, carrying employees of a local mining operation in the Şirvan district, veered out of the driver’s control before falling into a steep drop, according to local authorities, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
Emergency teams from the health services, AFAD, UMKE, the fire brigade and the gendarmerie were dispatched to the scene. Several workers trapped inside the vehicle were rescued following a coordinated effort by the crews.
The injured were given first aid at the site and later taken by ambulance to Siirt Training and Research Hospital. Two of the casualties are reported to be in a serious condition.
The minibus was retrieved from the ravine with the help of a crane. An investigation into the cause of the crash has been launched.
