Minister: Azerbaijan to take retaliatory measures to enemy provocations

On June 4, a service meeting was held at the Central Command Post under the leadership of the Minister of Defence, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov.

The meeting was attended by deputy ministers, commanders of military branches, heads of main departments, departments and services of the ministry. The commanders of military formations and formations stationed in the liberated territories were involved in the work of the meeting via video link, Caliber.Az reports referring to the press service of the Ministry of Defence.  

The Minister of Defence brought to the participants of the meeting the tasks set by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev to the Azerbaijani army.

At the meeting, the activities of the armed forces over the past month were assessed, issues related to combat training and morale and psychological state, the defence system and its comprehensive support were brought to attention, in order to further increase the combat effectiveness of the troops and improve interaction, the corresponding tasks.

The meeting emphasized the importance of increasing the intensity and quality of training and practical exercises conducted in accordance with the conditions of a real battle.

Colonel-General Z. Hasanov gave specific instructions to maintain combat readiness at a consistently high level, to take immediate and adequate response to possible provocations against our units.

The Minister of Defence instructed to keep in view the issues of studying the individual psychological characteristics of conscripts for active military service, their adaptation to military service, ensuring the safety of service and protecting the health of personnel.

The activities of the National Defence University, established to improve the management of military education as part of the measures taken to bring the Azerbaijani army in line with the standards of the Turkish Armed Forces, were positively assessed.

On the eve of June 26 - the Day of the Armed Forces, the Minister of Defence instructed the relevant officials, as at all times, to focus on the families of war veterans and martyrs who gave their lives for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

The importance of continuing proper engineering support measures, organizing the service of troops in military units stationed in the liberated territories, as well as improving military infrastructure and paying close attention to security rules was emphasized.
