NATO Secretary General arrives in Yerevan
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has arrived in Yerevan.
According to Armenian media, NATO Secretary General was met by Deputy Defense Minister Hrachya Sargsyan and Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan at Yerevan's Zvartnots Airport, Caliber.Az reports.
The NATO Secretary General will meet with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President Vahagn Khachaturian in Yerevan.
Secretary General Stoltenberg paid a visit to Azerbaijan on March 17, kicking off a three-day, tri-nation tour of the South Caucasus. Meeting with President Ilham Aliyev, the Secretary General welcomed Azerbaijan’s long-standing collaboration with the Alliance, saying he looked forward to further strengthening the partnership.
The Secretary General called the upcoming COP29 global climate summit in Azerbaijan an important milestone: “It is important for everyone concerned about climate change but also important for our security because those issues are closely interlinked.”
Stoltenberg also met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Defence Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov.
He then traveled to Tbilisi for meetings with Georgia’s leadership.
