It involved the use of drones, ATAK helicopters, armoured vehicles, as well as special operations units of the gendarmerie (JÖH) and commandos.
During the operation, two members of the PKK/KCK terrorist organisation were neutralised: regional officer Ferhat Serhildan, codenamed "İlhan Tekinalp", and Devrim Cudi, codenamed "Recep Kıpçak". The latter was on the run and listed under the "orange category" of wanted terrorists.
The Turkish government remains committed to intensifying its efforts against terrorism and ensuring the security of its citizens.
Notably, on October 23, armed assailants launched a deadly terror attack on Türkiye’s state-run aerospace company TUSAŞ near the capital Ankara, government officials said.
The attack resulted in the killing of five people and 22 injured, said Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya. Two attackers – a man and a woman – were killed, he added.
Among the dead are four TUSAŞ employees and the taxi driver who drove the assailants to the facility, according to Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz.
