Opta supercomputer updates World Cup 2026 favorites ahead of semifinals

The Opta supercomputer has identified France national football team as the leading favorite to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup ahead of the semifinal stage.

According to Opta’s latest projections, France has a 34.05% chance of lifting the trophy.

Spain national football team ranks second with a 23.45% probability, followed by England national football team at 21.94% and Argentina national football team at 20.55%.

In the quarterfinals, France defeated Morocco 2-0, while Spain edged Belgium 2-1.

England advanced with a 2-1 extra-time victory over Norway, and Argentina secured a 3-1 extra-time win against Switzerland.

The World Cup semifinals are scheduled to feature France against Spain and England against Argentina.
