Pakistani forces to join Victory Parade in Baku
Pakistan’s JF-17 Thunder fighter jets and military units will take part in today’s Victory Day parade in Baku, marking the fifth anniversary of Azerbaijan’s liberation of Karabakh.
Pakistan’s Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, announced the participation on the social media platform X, writing, “Long live Pakistan-Azerbaijan friendship. Pakistani troops and JF-17 Thunder fighter jets will be appearing in Azerbaijan's victory parade today commemorating the Liberation of Karabagh.”

In addition to Pakistan, the Embassy of Afghanistan in Baku extended its congratulations to Azerbaijan. The embassy posted on X: “On the occasion of Victory Day, November 8th, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the people of Azerbaijan.”

Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is visiting Azerbaijan to attend events marking the 5th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s Victory Day.
Victory Day on November 8 commemorates Azerbaijan’s success in the 44-day Patriotic War of 2020, which resulted in the liberation of territories occupied by Armenia. The annual celebrations in Baku include military parades, cultural events, and exhibitions honouring the nation’s achievements.
