Pashinyan, Erdogan discuss agreements reached with Baku in Washington
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke by phone with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on August 11, focusing on the breakthrough between Baku and Yerevan in Washington, the Prime Minister’s Office announced.
During the call, Prime Minister Pashinyan briefed President Erdogan on the outcomes of the negotiations held on August 8, 2025, in Washington, D.C, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
Key points included the initialing of the “Agreement on Peace and Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” the joint application to the OSCE to dissolve the OSCE Minsk Group mechanisms, and the unblocking of regional communications based on the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction, and reciprocity.
The prime minister also presented the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” project, underscoring its potential to foster stability in the region.
Pashinyan emphasised that the peace declaration between Armenia and Azerbaijan opens the door to a new level of regional cooperation.
The leaders also discussed the Armenian-Turkish bilateral agenda, focusing on the implementation of previously reached agreements. Pashinyan noted that the current atmosphere is more favourable than ever for advancing these accords.
The parties agreed to continue active political dialogue.
