Permanent rep to UN: Israel faces uncertain timeline in operation against Iran

13 June 2025 20:45

Permanent Representative of Israel to the United Nations Danny Danon has stated that Israel’s authorities currently do not know how long the ongoing operation against Iran will last.

Danon also highlighted that the Israeli population is prepared for potential retaliatory strikes from Iran, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

He revealed that just the previous night, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) intercepted over 100 drones launched toward Israeli territory by Iranian forces.

“We expect a greater number of attacks. We have prepared the population for very intense days ahead,” he emphasised, underscoring the heightened state of alert within Israel.

Earlier, the information went viral that Israel expects to complete its operation against Iran within two weeks. Israel’s attacks will simultaneously target Iranian leadership figures, weapons depots, and strategic sites. This tactic aims to deprive Tehran of the ability to launch a full-scale retaliatory strike.

On the night of June 13, Israel announced the launch of an operation named “Rising Lion”. The primary objective of this operation is to strike Iran’s nuclear and missile programmes. The Israeli military carried out attacks on several cities across the Islamic Republic, including Tehran and Natanz.
