Peru foreign minister resigns following US visit controversy

Peru's foreign minister resigned on November 7 after less than a year in office, amid questions over how she handled President Dina Boluarte's visit last week to the United States.

As reported by Reuters, local news outlets reported that Ana Cecilia Gervasi was under pressure after failing to arrange a formal meeting between Boluarte and President Joe Biden, although she made no reference to Boluarte's US trip in her resignation letter.
