Kremlin spokesperson reacts to Trump’s Hormuz threat: "We prefer not to comment"
The Russian government is aware of the threats made by US President Donald Trump towards Iran, as confirmed by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov in a statement to Russian media.
"We have seen these statements and prefer not to comment on them," Peskov said.
On April 5, President Trump issued a stark warning to Tehran, threatening that US forces would destroy all bridges and power stations in Iran if "the crazy bastards" in Tehran did not open the Strait of Hormuz.
This statement follows growing tensions over control of the vital shipping route.
In response, Iran has threatened to strike US and Israeli infrastructure should further attacks be made.
Ali Abdollahi, Commander of the "Khatam al-Anbiya" headquarters, issued a chilling warning, stating that the "gates of hell" would open for their adversaries.
This remark came after Trump issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Tehran, demanding a decision on the fate of the Strait of Hormuz and the potential for a deal with Washington.
