PM: Opening of Zangazur corridor to increase importance of Azerbaijan in region
The opening of the Zangazur corridor will contribute to the development of Azerbaijan’s economy, as well as raise its importance in the region, Prime Minister Ali Asadov said.
He made the remarks at the "Heydar Aliyev and independent state building in Azerbaijan: the history and modernity of the socio-economic transition” conference, Report informs.
According to him, Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur became large-scale construction sites, and life in these lands began to revive with the implementation of the "Great Return" program.
"Under the leadership of First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, Heydar Aliyev Foundation implements major projects for the restoration and reconstruction of religious and historical monuments in these territories. Today, our towns and villages are being rebuilt in the lands liberated from occupation under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev," the PM noted.
Asadov also stressed that along with large-scale oil and gas projects, Azerbaijan became one of the world's logistics and transport centres with such grandiose projects as the creation of North-South, East-West transport corridors, and the commissioning of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad.
