07 July 2024 10:09

The specialists of Dagenergo energy company are currently working to restore power supply in Khasavyurt city and several villages in the Khasavyurt district of Russia’s Dagestan, where service was disrupted due to an accident.

“Over 70,000 residents of Khasavyurt and several settlements in the Khasavyurt and Novolaksky districts are affected by the power outage,” Caliber.Az reports citing the Russian media.

According to preliminary information from Rosseti Northern Caucasus company, a short circuit occurred on a 25 MVA power transformer.

“The transformer malfunctioned, leading to the shutdown of power transformers #16 and #25 MVA. Dagenergo divisions are currently working to restore operations for these transformers,” the company said.

"Dagenergo" refers to a regional energy company operating in the Republic of Dagestan, part of the larger Russian Federation. It is responsible for the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity across its service area, ensuring reliable power supply to residential, commercial, and industrial consumers. Dagenergo plays a critical role in maintaining and expanding the electrical infrastructure in Dagestan, supporting economic development and enhancing living standards for its residents.
