President Aliyev: Latvia, Azerbaijan strategic partners

Relations between Latvia and Azerbaijan develop very successfully.

Both countries are strategic partners, said President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev as he made a press statement following his meeting with President of Latvia Egils Levits, Azertag reports.

The head of state underlined that the Declaration on Strategic Partnership had been signed between the two countries several years ago, saying “ And really we act as strategic partners.”

“We have very active political dialogue. I have been several times on visits, including official visits to Latvia. Presidents of Latvia visited Azerbaijan several times. And of course, today’s visit of Mr. President is a good demonstration of our close cooperation,” Aliyev added.

“We have a very active joint economic commission, which also meets regularly,” the head of state underlined.
