Romanians rally against government with anti-Western slogans

More than 10,000 supporters of the Alliance for the Unification of Romania (AUR) party took part in an anti-government protest in central Bucharest on May 6.

The protesters chanted anti-Western slogans, Lenta.Ru reports, citing G4Media.

The action was held under the slogan "We are not selling out the country".

AUR party members appealed to all the country’s residents to join the rally and oppose the "anti-national and anti-family activities promoted by the present government".

The organisers said that forests and national resources were being taken away from the country.

According to them, Romanians will no longer tolerate "absurd rules being imposed on them and being treated as a colony".
