Russia, Kazakhstan extend oil transit agreement until 2033
Russia and Kazakhstan have agreed to extend an intergovernmental agreement on oil transit through Kazakhstan until 2033, the volume will be increased to 10 million tons per year. It was reported on the Telegram channel of the Russian Ministry of Energy.
"Russia and Kazakhstan have a successful and fruitful cooperation in the energy sector, including in the oil sector. During the meeting with Kazakh colleagues, it was decided to extend the intergovernmental agreement on the transit of oil through Kazakhstan with an increase of up to 10 million tons per year until the end of 2033," the Ministry's head Nikolai Shulginov said in a statement.
During the meeting between Shulginov and Kazakhstan's Energy Minister Almassadam Satkaliyev, the sides also discussed cooperation in the electricity sector, including the participation of Russian companies in energy projects in Kazakhstan's territories.
"We are ready to implement joint projects in the field of construction and modernization of power facilities, production and supply of equipment, and introduction of digital technologies of operational dispatch control. Russia has the necessary experience and technologies in the electric power industry, which are relevant also for Kazakhstan's partners," said the head of the Russian ministry.
