Russia's OMON, police conduct mosque raid in Moscow Region
Members of Russia’s OMON and the officers of Ministry of Internal Affairs carried out a joint operation at a mosque in Elektrostal, a city in the Moscow Region.
Officers requested that all individuals present in the mosque present identification documents during the inspection, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Russian National Guard.
The operation revealed that 16 individuals were illegal migrants, and that missionary activities conducted within the religious organization were in violation of established regulations.
In total, authorities checked 575 people, 209 of whom were foreign nationals. Additionally, 37 individuals who had not registered for military service were taken to the local military commissariat for further processing.
