Russia's Zakharova blames US diplomat Nuland's resignation on failures in Ukraine

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has linked the imminent resignation of Victoria Nuland, the third-ranking US diplomat, to US plans to cover up its failures in Ukraine.

She said that Nuland's resignation from the post of US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs was a sign of the complete failure of US policy in Ukraine, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

"They will now cover their tracks, including through such resignations, dismissals, trying to reset the whole history of their foreign policy failure and miscalculation," Zakharova noted.

The Foreign Ministry spokeswoman added that this was a "stable, continuous betrayal by the US of its allies". Washington has never betrayed itself in that regard, she insisted.
