Russia: Thirteen-year-old girl tortured by peers in Irkutsk Burning with an iron and beating with a cord

Schoolchildren in Russia's Irkutsk Oblast burned a girl’s legs with an iron and beat her face with a cord to prevent her from complaining to her parents, a source told RT.

The teenagers involved are said to have been intimidating other students in Irkutsk's Bolshoy Lug area. Police reports have been filed, and a criminal case has been opened under the charge of torture.

Investigators from the regional Investigative Committee confirmed that the perpetrators have been identified and are cooperating with authorities. The regional prosecutor’s office has taken the case under its supervision to ensure proper oversight of the investigation.
