Russia, Ukraine exchange PoWs as per "45 for 45" formula PHOTO
Russia and Ukraine exchanged prisoners of war according to the "45 for 45" formula on July 6.
Previously, the sides exchanged prisoners of war on June 11. At that time, the exchange was carried out according to the formula "94 Russians for 95 Ukrainians,” Kommersant reports, citing the Russian Defence Ministry.
The ministry stated that the Russians in captivity were in mortal danger.
"All those released are provided with the necessary medical and psychological assistance, and in the near future they will be taken to medical institutions for treatment and rehabilitation,” the ministry wrote.
Similarly, Ukrainian President's office Head Andriy Yermak wrote in Telegram that
two officers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, a civilian employee of Azovstal and a fighter
of the military defence from Kherson are among the returned PoW.
Yermak also noted that two illegally retrieved children 6-year-old Renat and 10-year-old Varvara – were returned from Russia.
