Russian air defence downs 12 drones approaching Moscow, says mayor

Russian air defence systems have intercepted four drones approaching Moscow, bringing the total number of intercepted unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to 12.

“Emergency services specialists are working at the sites where debris fell,” Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said on Telegram.

Earlier, Sobyanin reported that eight UAVs heading toward the Russian capital had been intercepted.
