On September 23, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) coast guard patrol ship "Rasul Gamzatov" anchored at the port of Baku as part of the programme of mutual visits between the coast guard patrol ships of Azerbaijan and Russia.
According to the press service of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan, cited by Caliber.Az, the visit is being carried out in line with the Action Plan agreed between the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Border Service of the FSB of the Russian Federation.
During the stay, delegations from both countries are scheduled to hold discussions on the work of their respective border agencies, assess the current operational situation in the Caspian Sea, and review the results of joint operational and preventive measures conducted so far. The agenda also includes clarifying procedures for the exchange of information between the two sides’ border services.
Alongside the official programme, several cultural and sporting events have been arranged. Representatives of the Azerbaijani and Russian coast guards will take part in a friendly football match at the Sərhədçi Sports Centre, while delegations will also exchange visits to each other’s patrol ships.
The cultural programme includes visits to some of Baku’s most prominent landmarks, such as the Heydar Aliyev Centre and the Ateshgah State Historical and Architectural Reserve, as well as tours introducing the Russian guests to the city’s cultural and historical monuments.
