Russian deputy FM condoles families of Azerbaijani sailors killed in drone attack
Mikhail Galuzin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, has expressed condolences to the families of Azerbaijani sailors who were killed in a drone attack on cargo vessels in the Sea of Azov.
Galuzin extended his sympathies to the relatives and loved ones of the victims, describing the loss of life as a tragedy, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
“First and foremost, I would like to express my sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased Azerbaijani sailors. The loss of human life is always a tragedy; it is always a source of grief for their families and loved ones, unfortunately,” he said.
Galuzin also commented on the use of drones against civilian vessels.
“We know full well who is using drones – both aerial and maritime – to attack peaceful civilian vessels in the waters of the Black Sea and the Mediterranean. It is, so to speak, a well-known country,” he said.
Earlier, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Aykhan Hajizada confirmed that five Azerbaijani citizens were killed and three others injured following a drone attack on two foreign cargo vessels in the Taganrog Bay of the Sea of Azov on the night of June 5. The vessels Natra and Zirkon were carrying a total of 25 Azerbaijani nationals as part of their crews, although neither ship is owned by Azerbaijan.
