Russian embassy in Washington says US wants to prolong conflict in Ukraine

The Pentagon's statement on the planned dispatch of four more HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems to Ukraine shows the US desire to prolong the conflict at any cost, the Russian embassy in Washington said.

"Attention has been drawn to the Pentagon's statement about the upcoming shipment of four more HIMARS multiple rocket launchers to Ukraine. Behind this decision is Washington's unrestrained desire to prolong the conflict at any cost," the embassy said in a comment posted on the social network, according to Interfax.

It also emphasized that the thesis of high-ranking US officials that the military products are used by Ukrainians for defensive purposes is untenable.
