Russian infantry fighting vehicles gets advanced drone suppression technology
The BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles have started to be serially equipped with drone suppression systems.
"Currently, BMP-3s are being equipped serially with a system of local suppression of drone control lines," the press service of the “Visokotochnie Kompleksi” holding (part of Rostec) told TASS at the past International Naval Salon "Fleet-2024" in Kronstadt.
Earlier, the holding reported that BMP-2 and BMD-4 began to be routinely equipped with the "Nakidka" camouflage system, which is especially relevant in the conditions of enemy Baba Yaga drone sorties.
BMP-3 is a Soviet and Russian multifunctional combat vehicle which combines the best of an infantry fighting vehicle, tank destroyer, fire support vehicle and amphibious personnel carrier.
The armament of the BMP-3 IFV includes a 100mm cannon-missile launcher, 30mm automatic cannon and 7.62mm machine gun integrated in a weapon station, as well as two 7.62mm hull machine guns.
