Russian Pacific Fleet gears up to counter drone attacks

The military garrisons of the Pacific Fleet (PF) stationed in Primorye and Kamchatka have held extensive anti-terrorist drills, the press service of the Eastern Military District of PF told Kommersant.

The exercise involved electronic warfare and air defence units tasked with "countering quadrocopters and other means of unmanned aviation of the conditional enemy".

"The servicemen worked out the algorithm of actions to suppress attempts to fly "enemy" UAVs in the closed territory of military units and military camps", the message said.

It is noted that the exercises were carried out "under the plan to ensure the protection and defence of the fleet's military facilities".
