Russian troops fully capture Ukraine's Avdiivka Shoigu reports to Putin

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu reported President Vladimir Putin that Avdiivka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) had been fully captured by the "Center" troop group, commanded by Colonel-General Andrei Mordvichev.

Under the continuous fire of the Russian troops, only separate disparate formations of fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) managed to hastily leave Avdeevka, abandoning weapons and military equipment, Lenta.ru reports, citing the ministry's Telegram channel.

At present, measures are being taken in the locality to block Ukrainian units that have left the city and are holed up at the Avdiivka coke and chemical plant.
