SpaceX successfully launches 20 Starlink satellites with Falcon 9 rocket
SpaceX has successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Florida, carrying 20 Starlink satellites into orbit.
The payload consists of 13 satellites featuring Direct to Cell technology. The launch took place from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
The space organisation confirmed the launch in a post on X, stating, "Deployment of 20 Starlink satellites confirmed."
The first-stage booster of the Falcon 9 successfully returned to Earth roughly 8.5 minutes after launch, landing on SpaceX's drone ship, 'Just Read the Instructions,' in the Atlantic Ocean.
Meanwhile, the upper stage continued its journey to deploy the Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit. Deployment is expected to occur about 64 minutes after liftoff, assuming all goes as planned. This mission also marked the 17th launch and landing of the Falcon 9's first-stage booster, which had previously been used for several significant missions.
