Spain cancel training session ahead of World Cup final due to thunderstorms

Spain’s national team have cancelled their final training session ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final against Argentina due to severe weather conditions, according to Spanish outlet COPE.

The publication reported on X that New Jersey is expected to experience worsening weather, including heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, some of which have already begun. The stormy conditions are also expected to help disperse smoke drifting south from wildfires in Canada.

The World Cup final is scheduled to take place on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with kick-off set for 23:00 Baku time.
