Steps underway to launch Zangazur corridor to connect Azerbaijan, Türkiye
Necessary steps are being taken for the Zangazur corridor, which will connect Azerbaijan with Türkiye through Nakhchivan.
Some 57 per cent of the Horadiz-Jabrayil-Zangilan-Aghband highway of the Zangazur corridor passing through Azerbaijan, which was founded by the leaders of the two countries on October 26, 2021, has been completed, Report informs citing the Turkish Aksham newspaper.
The 123.6-km-long road in the Azerbaijani part of the corridor starts from the village of Ahmadbayli in Fuzuli District.
"The Horadiz-Jabrayil-Zangilan-Aghband highway is being built with first-class quality in accordance with international standards.
The 77.5-km section of the highway is designed with six lanes, and the remaining part is designed with four lanes.
While 37 per cent of the three road tunnels under construction on the road have already been completed, 19 of the 23 projected bridges are under construction.
The construction work carried out by Turkish companies under the supervision of the State Agency of Highways of Azerbaijan is scheduled to be completed in 2024," the publication noted.
