Tashkent, Washington strive for strengthening of strategic cooperation
The Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan's Security Council has travelled to Washington to meet with US foreign policy officials.
The American side reaffirmed its strong support for Uzbekistan’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity during the meeting with Abdulaziz Kamilov, Caliber.Az reports citing Uzbek media.
Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau praised Uzbekistan’s efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of civilian nuclear energy, critical minerals, and broader economic and investment engagement.
The US diplomat also expressed appreciation for Uzbekistan’s continued cooperation in combating illegal migration and terrorist threats.
The meeting comes only a few days after Uzbekistan held a high-profile summit for the expansion of trade relations with the EU with the participation of four other Central Asian republics.
