Top scorers in FIFA World Cup qualifications revealed

The list of players who have scored the most goals in World Cup qualifiers has been updated.
Former striker of the national team of Guatemala Carlos Ruiz takes the first place, Report informs citing the official website of the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).
The 42-year-old veteran player participated in the qualifying stages of five World Cups from 2002 to 2018, scoring 39 goals.
Cristiano Ronaldo of the Portugal national team scored 36 goals, catching up with former Iranian striker Ali Daei.
This is followed by: Pole Robert Lewandowski (30), Uruguayan Luis Suarez (29), another member of Iran Karim Bagiri and Argentine Lionel Messi (28 each).
