Turkish Army gets new domestic tow trucks PHOTO/VIDEO
Tow trucks on 8x8 chassis developed by the Turkish company MPG AŞ have been handed over to the Turkish Armed Forces at an official ceremony in Konya, Türkiye.
Erdogan attended the ceremony to hand over the recovery vehicles to the Turkish Armed Forces, joining the event via video conference, Caliber.Az cites Defensehere.com as saying on Twitter.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ismail Demir, head of Türkiye's Defence Industry Authority, said that the domestic defence industry complex (DIC) had made major achievements in recent years.
He said 29 TKAs are already in service. "We are entering a new era of DIC development, delivering new equipment to the Turkish Armed Forces. We will continue to announce good news, particularly on the 100th anniversary of our Republic," Demir said.
The minister emphasized that Türkiye continues to work extensively towards developing all types of systems that will be deployed on land, in the air and at sea.

Meanwhile, MPG AŞ CEO Veysel Alver has announced the completion of an 8x8 wheeled rescue vehicle project that aims to meet the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces.
"In 2020, the Turkish Armed Forces delivered 29 mine-resistant rescue vehicles. We are proud and happy to have developed this product, which is in service in very few countries and has much better technical characteristics than its counterparts," he said.
