Turkish FM: Armenia smuggling weapons to Karabakh
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has said Azerbaijan and Türkiye have been aiming at normalising relations with Armenia since the end of the Second Karabakh War in 2020.
Azerbaijan has offered Armenia to conclude a peace treaty, NTV quotes him as saying.
"Armenia cannot accept being expelled from foreign lands. It is creating tension, smuggling weapons into Karabakh," Cavusoglu noted.
"We stand by Azerbaijan," the minister added.
Moreover, Cavusoglu announced the closure of Türkiye's airspace for Armenian planes after the provocation with the monument in Yerevan.
"We cannot accept this [the provocation]. In response, we have closed our airspace to Armenian planes. Only the Armenian parliament’s speaker will come to Türkiye for the [BSEC Parliamentary Assembly] meeting as an exception. If this continues, we will take new steps," Cavusoglu noted.
