The provinces of Mardin, Hatay, Bitlis, Diyarbakır, Sirnak, Siirt, Tunceli, Bingol, and Hakkari became the focal points of Operation Bozdoğan-8. The operation strategically addressed the hiding spots in caves and shelters where PKK militants stored their arsenal during the winter months.
The operation, carried out precisely, involved utilising advanced military assets, including Gendarmerie Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and ATAK helicopters. A total of 204 teams from the Gendarmerie's special operations units (JÖH) and 2,866 commandos, operating under the direction of the Gendarmerie General Command, played a pivotal role in executing the mission.
During Operation Bozdogan-8, 59 terrorist hideouts were successfully destroyed, dealing a significant blow to PKK's operational capabilities. The security forces also managed to seize substantial quantities of weapons, ammunition, and explosive devices, disrupting the terrorist organization's ability to carry out attacks.
