The HITFACT Mk II BO is a tank-type turret with a turret basket and several related units. Firepower is at the level of modern medium or main tanks.
The HITFACT Mk II turret has a welded structure with bulletproof and anti-fragmentation protection. The mounted modules protecting against small-calibre ammunition can be installed. The crew workstations have energy-absorbing seats. There is also a set of laser radiation sensors, an automatic fire extinguishing system and collective protection tools against atomic weapons.
The turret is a 120 mm rifled system with a length of 45 klb. The turret is included in the high-pressure system, it is provided with ejectors and barrel deflection sensors. It uses unitary shots of NATO standards with available projectiles.
A developed niche of the turret is used to store ammunition. At the customer's request, the turret can be equipped with an automatic loader. In this case, the loader is excluded.
The customer can also choose additional weapons. A 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun of the desired type is placed on the same mount as the cannon. A normal or large caliber machine gun can be placed on the turret, as well as on the Leonardo HITROLE combat module. Eight smoke grenade launchers are placed on the sides of the turret.
HITFACT Mk II has an advanced weapons control system. It includes a panoramic commander's sight and a gunner's sight with stabilisation and a night infrared channel. There is also an optical sight. The exact control system is created taking into account the customer’s requirements. It targets through main electric and additional manual drives. Horizontal targeting is circular, vertical targeting – ranging from -7° to +16°.
Depending on the chosen configuration, there are two or three crew workstations with two hatches on the roof. In all cases, there are the commander (to the left of the gun) and the gunner (to the right). Behind them is a loader or automatic loader.
