“TAYFUN is a project through which our country has risen to the highest level in missile technology. As part of this project, we provided the Turkish armed forces with a product that is designed for the effective destruction of important small-sized targets. The TAYFUN missile will use different types of warheads with diverse capabilities,” ROKETSAN General Manager Murat Ikinci said.
He added that mass production of TAYFUN is underway and the Turkish armed forces are already sharing their needs with the company in this regard.
“During the next stages, the TAYFUN project will be as a system that will meet the needs of our armed forces at the highest level in the future, with new capabilities rather than as a finished product,” Ikinci said.
The TAYFUN ballistic missile, with a range of 300–1000 kilometres, became Türkiye's first short-range ballistic missile.
Thus, the Turkish Armed Forces have risen to a new level in this field for the first time.
Many core components of the TAYFUN missile, such as the engine, propellant and guidance system, were developed by Roketsan.
