Turkish air defence system HİSAR-D will be integrated into TCG ISTANBUL at the end of 2023, ROKETSAN Director General Murat Ikinçi said.
🛡️🇹🇷HİSAR-D bu sene TCG İSTANBUL'dan atılacak! HİSAR-D Blok 2 quadpack olacak!

🔸"HİSAR-D ilk başta quadpack olmayacak. İlk hedefimiz bu yıl içerisinde İstanbul fırkateyninden HİSAR-D'nin atışını MİDLAS üzerinden yapmak."https://t.co/W12HcvK0p1 pic.twitter.com/I2w2yRpEDQ
"Our first goal is to launch HİSAR-D from the frigate TCG ISTANBUL using MIDLAS vertical launch this year. Integration activities on this occasion continue without interruption. At the moment, our goal is to achieve a design that will launch one missile at the target in the first phase. Then we will continue integrating other missiles into it. MIDLAS is a very important capability. It provides a common platform on which our own national guided missiles can be integrated onto all our naval platforms," Defence Turk quotes him on its Twitter page, Caliber.Az reports.
In addition to SIPER Blok 1 long-range anti-aircraft missiles, HISAR-D anti-aircraft missile systems can be used in MIDLAS. Currently, RIM-162 ESSM medium-altitude air defense missiles with a quadruple satchel are used in the Mk41 vertical launch systems of the Barbaros and Gabya class frigates.
