Türkiye’s Baykar unveils amount spent on unmanned combat aerial vehicles

Director General of Türkiye’s Baykar company Haluk Bayraktar has said that the company will invest $300 million in aircraft engines during the next five years.

“If you're going to compete in the world, you will have to invest. Turbine engines are used on Bayraktar AKINCI and Bayraktar Kızılelma drones,” Caliber.Az reports citing the message by SavunmaSanayiST.com posted on X.

He noted that the Bayraktar Kızılelma engine will become domestic in four years. In total, Baykar spent $1 billion on Kızılelma by using its own resources.

Baykar plans to produce 12 Kızılelma combat unmanned aircraft this year and 48 aircraft in 2026.

The Baykar company, which manufactures unmanned aerial vehicles, is one of the ten leading exporting companies in Türkiye. Baykar Technologies operates as a defense technology manufacturing company. The company offers command, control, communication, computer, and intelligence (C4I), unmanned aerial vehicle systems, artificial intelligence systems, and other new technologies. Baykar Technologies serves defense and aviation sectors in Türkiye.
