UK expands anti-Russian sanctions targeting 85 entities, individuals
The United Kingdom has introduced new restrictions as part of its anti-Russian sanctions regime, targeting 85 new entities and individuals.
Those subject to the latest sanctions include employees of Russia’s Social Design Agency, Rosmolodezh head Grigory Gurov, and the Internet Development Institute (IRI), among others, Caliber.Az reports, citing the British government’s website.
Earlier, the UK imposed restrictions on 18 individuals and organisations under its Russia-related sanctions programme, including eight companies and ten individuals.
Among those targeted are several employees of the “Alabuga Start” programme, as well as companies and citizens from Russia, Belarus, and France.
Since the start of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, Western countries have imposed extensive sanctions on Moscow.
Disruptions to logistics chains have contributed to sharp increases in fuel and food prices, including in Europe and the United States.
Russian officials have repeatedly stated that the country has successfully withstood sanctions pressure, while also arguing that Western governments have failed to acknowledge the ineffectiveness of the restrictions.
