Ukraine strengthens national air shield with structural, tech upgrades
Ukraine is implementing a comprehensive set of measures aimed at reinforcing its air defence system, including structural changes and technological upgrades, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi announced.
He noted that responsibilities will be redistributed between the anti-aircraft missile forces and a newly established branch tasked with protecting critical infrastructure facilities, Caliber.Az reports.
In addition, the number and effectiveness of interceptor drones are being increased, while efforts are underway in cooperation with partners to address the shortage of air defence missiles and fighter aircraft munitions.
According to Syrskyi, Ukraine’s air defence systems have demonstrated an efficiency rate of about 74% over the past two years, and this figure is expected to rise through the introduction of new technologies.
