Ukraine, Türkiye, UN sign grain export agreement
Ukraine's representatives, who are visiting Istanbul, have signed an agreement on grain export with Turkish and United Nations (UN) representatives.
The document was signed by Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov, Turkish National Defence Minister Hulusi Akar and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, TASS reports with reference to the Ukrainian publication Strana.
It is noted that a similar document "should be signed by representatives of Türkiye, the UN and Russia".
It is claimed that control over the ports of Odesa, Chernomorsk and Yuzhny, through which grain exports will be carried out, "remains with the Ukrainian side". In addition, it is emphasised that there is no provision for the presence of other vessels in these ports, other than those providing for the export of grain and related foodstuffs and fertilisers.
Before that, it became known that Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu flew to Istanbul on July 22 to sign an agreement on the transportation of Ukrainian grain from the Black Sea ports.
Earlier, the assistant to the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Mykhailo Podolyak, said that the Russian Federation and Ukraine will separately sign agreements on the export of grain from Ukrainian ports.
