UN High-Level Week: Azerbaijan, EU align on regional peace, strategic cooperation
As part of the High-Level Week of the United Nations General Assembly, Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, convened a meeting with Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission.
The discussions centered on the current dynamics of Azerbaijan-EU relations, alongside avenues for deepening bilateral cooperation, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting pointed out key areas of mutual interest, notably the enhancement of political dialogue, the expansion of trade and economic ties, and the intensification of collaborative efforts across pivotal sectors such as energy, transport, sustainable development, and humanitarian initiatives. The sides emphasized the importance of sustained partnership to address global and regional challenges.
Additionally, the leaders exchanged views on the geopolitical situation in the South Caucasus region, with particular attention given to the ongoing peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The dialogue reflected a shared commitment to fostering stability and advancing peaceful resolution efforts in the region.
