UN ready to contribute to "net zero emission" goals in liberated Azerbaijani lands
A United Nations official in Azerbaijan has said that the UN is ready to assist Azerbaijan in creating a "net zero emissions" zone in the liberated territories.
UN Resident Coordinator Vladanka Andreeva made the remarks during the event titled "Green Transformation in Azerbaijan: Sustainable Development Goals" in Baku on November 2, per Report.
“Azerbaijan has identified a clean environment as one of its main goals. At the COP 26 conference in Glasgow last year, Azerbaijan also expressed its desire to achieve a "net zero emissions" zone in the liberated territories. The UN aims to work with Azerbaijan in this regard to help the country achieve these goals,” Vladanka Andreeva said.
She noted that the very first dialogue on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is aimed at the green transformation in Azerbaijan.
Andreeva also recalled that on November 6, the Climate Change Conference (COP27) will open in Sharm el-Sheikh.
