UN Resident Coordinator: Smart village in Azerbaijan’s Zangilan - very important step
UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva has said that the Azerbaijani government’s work on the construction of a "smart" village in the liberated Zangilan district, to which internally displaced people (IDPs) can return, is an important step.
“Although I visited various liberated Azerbaijani territories, I was in Zangilan for the first time. We are looking forward to seeing how the IDPs who returned to Zangilan will resume their peaceful life here,” she said, noting that she was incredibly impressed with the infrastructure and conditions in the “smart” village,” Andreeva told Report.
The resident coordinator added that international organisations within the UN could support Azerbaijan in monitoring the purity of water and taking measures to purify it to use as drinking water and irrigation.
