Azerbaijani religious leader to join G20 Interfaith Forum in South Africa
Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO), will travel to Cape Town, South Africa, on August 10 to participate in the G20 Interfaith Forum, the CMO announced.
The G20 Interfaith Forum, held annually ahead of the G20 Leaders’ Summit, serves as a global platform for dialogue among religious leaders, policymakers, and civil society representatives. This year’s gathering, taking place from August 10–14 under the theme “Faith in Action”, will bring together participants from around the world to explore the role of faith communities in addressing global challenges, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Pashazade, who has previously attended forum meetings in Bologna, Italy; Bali, Indonesia; and Pune, India, was invited to the South Africa event by Cole Durham, President of the G20 Interfaith Forum.
He is scheduled to speak at the opening plenary session, take part in cultural programs, and hold meetings with fellow delegates and officials.
Azerbaijan’s delegation will also include members of parliament and Ravan Hasanov, Executive Director of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center.
