Pashinyan announces establishment of peace between Armenia, Azerbaijan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has officially declared that peace has been established between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Speaking to Armenian journalists in Washington, Pashinyan emphasised the historic significance of this development while acknowledging that further steps are needed to institutionalise the peace, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“Today we can confirm that peace has been established between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Pashinyan said. “Of course, this peace still needs to be institutionalised. And the process that has begun will continue.”
The announcement follows the recent initialling of a peace treaty between the two countries, signed in the presence of US President Donald Trump at the White House. This treaty marks a significant milestone aimed at ending decades of conflict in the South Caucasus region.
