EU envoy pays tribute to ANAMA worker killed in mine blast

EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Marijana Kujundžić has expressed condolences over the death of an employee of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), Mughan Matili, who was killed in a mine incident. 

The diplomat made the statement on her social media platform X, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

"I express my heartfelt condolences to the family of Mughan Matili, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty. My thoughts are with ANAMA and all those working in demining efforts across affected areas of Azerbaijan. We remain committed to restoring safety and security," Kujundžić wrote.

On April 14, ANAMA employee Matili Mughan Rafail oghlu (born 1995) was killed while performing his duties after detonating an anti-tank mine.
